A few weeks ago, Portuguese newspaper A Bola ran a piece on Rafa Silva to Liverpool. It wasn't their first article on the player going to Anfield, and certainly won't have been the last, but what made it stand out was that A Bola really wanted it to be taken seriously.
The newspaper were insistent it wasn't simply a rumour, and they explained Liverpool had made some sort of 'official approach' to sign the young wide player.
Rafa Silva currently plays for SC Braga and he's the main reason an increasing number of scouts have been watching Braga games this season. Labelled sometimes, in the rumour mill way, as the Portuguese Eden Hazard, Rafa Silva is an exciting player who is now ready to take the next step.
After further reports in the Portuguese press this week of interest from Premier League clubs, Sport Witness contacted Rafa Silva's agent and asked for an update.
Antônio Araújo told us: “Our client, Rafa Silva, sees with very good eyes the possibility of playing in the Premier League," Antônio Araújo has told Sport Witness “We are working towards achieving this objective."
The 22 year old quite fancies playing in England, and so will no doubt be thrilled if Liverpool's interest is as strong as A Bola insisted.
