Sir Alex has confirmed today that Antonio Valencia will return to training tomorrow. He'll be training with the reserves for a full week before returning to the first team set up.

That's the best news I've heard in a while, I couldn't think of a better way to start the weekend. Valencia has been greatly missed this season and if we can have him back for the start of March, it'll give us a great boost going into the most crucial part of the season.

Now the reserves play Newcastle on Wednesday night in the FA Youth Cup 5th Round, so could he possibly make a surprise appearance on Wednesday or would that be too soon for him to return to action?

Would he be allowed to play in the youth cup?
Hmmm that's actually a good question. Probably not although I'm not totally sure on what the rules would be on the matter.

No he wouldn't be allowed.

You have to be aged between 15 and 18 on the 31st August to take part.

The next available date for him to make an appearance on is the following Tuesday when the reserves visit Newcastle in the league.
