There's been a lot of talk about whether Spurs are really in this season's title race or not. I hand on heart, honestly cannot see them winning the title this season because I think they're bound to hit a dip in form at some point like every team does and I think City and United will both prove to be too strong for Spurs in the end, however I have to say, as it stands, they're 3 points of us in 2nd place and if they beat Everton tonight, they'll be level on points with us and only 3 points off top spot.

Now I've just looked at their fixtures and in January they've got 3 games at White Hart Lane against sides that let's be honest, we'd all expect them to beat and in between they've got what will be a tasty little fixture against Manchester City at The Etihad Stadium. Now could you imagine if they managed to beat City? I realise that's easier said than done because City have only been beaten once at home this season , but what might it do to their confidence if they actually did? If Spurs managed to win all of their games in January, they'd be level on points with City going into February which I'm sure most of us never thought would've been possible after their difficult start to the season.

After January however, is when it gets difficult for Spurs because they've got Liverpool, Arsenal and Everton away and Manchester United and Newcastle at home. This is where it'll be won or lost for Spurs because if they manage to accumulate a good number of points from these games, then they're definitely in with a great chance of winning the title, there's no doubt about it. It also depends on whether their key players can stay clear of serious injury.

Now does anyone here think we'll be using the words Spurs and title race in the same sentence come April and May?

I don't think so, but I'm not really sure why. I do think they'll get top 4 though, so it'll be interesting to see who doesn't get it out of Chelsea and Arsenal, I think that could be a pretty exciting race at the end of the season as well.
