French defender Mathieu Debuchy signed for Bordeaux on loan in January, after a series of injuries and losing his place to Hector Bellerin. Debuchy had an opportunity to move to Manchester United, and there was also aston Villa interest, but Bordeaux was the option which ended up suiting Arsenal and the player best.
However, things didn't really go well for him at the Ligue 1 club, and he's set to return to London as soon as pre-season training starts.
The 30-year-old still has three years left on his contract at the Emirates, but could leave the club this summer to get regular playing time elsewhere. According to L'Equipe, Debuchy is looking to sign for a club before the pre-season, and he hopes his injury woes are behind him.
Debuchy suffered a couple of injuries during his stay at Bordeaux, whilst at Arsenal it was a shoulder injury which saw Bellerin get his chance and never look back.
Injury free, Debuchy is a good signing, but there will be some doubts over his fitness, which could leave to another loan.
