Catalan newspaper Sport have been confused by transfer frenzy already, and the window hasn't even opened yet. On Tuesday they headline a piece in their newspaper 'Juve y Nápoles se fijan en Mascherano' - claiming that there's a fight between the two Italian clubs to sign Javier Mascherano.
Yet Juventus aren't mentioned once in the article, the sub-editor meant Liverpool. Sport explain that Napoli have been interested for some time as Rafa Benitez looks to reunite himself with the Argentine midfielder turned sometime defender. Napoli would be prepared to pay €15m for the 29 year old who has two years left on his current contract.
Whilst Sport think that figure would be enough to please Barcelona and therefore get a deal done, Napoli is not the preference of the player himself. Mascherano is not keen on a move to the lively city of Naples, and neither are his family according to Sport.
They would much rather return to Liverpool and the Catalan newspaper say that Mascherano wants to end his career on Merseyside. Sport say that Liverpool are interested but they'll have to move forward with any potential wish to sign him to make Mascherano happy. Should Liverpool not progress from the interest stage then the player and his family may have to reconsider the beeping horns and blaring sirens of Naples, which is still a beautiful city.
According to reports in the French media, Celtic are interested in bringing Christopher Dilo to the club in the summer transfer window. The 20 year old only joined St Mirren last July but he will be out on contract at the end of June.
Alvaro Negredo burst into the Premier League. For the many who doubted whether Manchester City actually needed him, Negredo was quick to answer and scored 2 goals in his first 3 Premier League games. Unfortunately for the Spanish international things didn't continue so well and he hasn't scored a Premier League goal since January 12th.
Even the most loyal and occasionally willfully blind Chelsea fans must accept that David Luiz wants to play for Barcelona. Not long after he joined Chelsea he was already telling the Brazilian press that Barcelona interest flattered him, even though there were no such reports at the time.
According to reports in the Portuguese media, Southampton are still in the race to sign young S.C Braga midfielder Rafa Silva (more commonly known as Rafa). The player only joined the club last summer but his performances this season have brought him to the attention of others. With speculation that Adam Lallana may leave the club in the summer transfer window, Rafa will be seen as somebody who could come in to replace the England international.
Julian Draxler hasn't had a great season for Schalke. The 20 year old has plenty of time to improve and is still extremely good for his age but it would be wrong to suggest he'd come close to setting the Bundesliga alight during the last campaign.
Last week Portuguese newspaper O Jogo had a small update on the William Carvalho transfer situation. They explained that Manchester United had done the most work on a transfer, compiled the most reports and were in a position to proceed should they want to.
Everton have scouted several Portuguese games so far this season and it was interesting that as the season came to an end they were present, again, for a Benfica match at the weekend according to the official scout list.
Sporting Lisbon are concerned about the future of their young Englishman Eric Dier. The versatile defensive player is still just 20 years old and has been attracting attention from clubs in the Premier League who would be able to offer him a salary far higher than what he currently receives with Sporting.
Arsenal are set to watch Morgan Schneiderlin at the weekend for Southampton against Manchester United, but it's not going to be the best match to judge a player upon. The end of season pre-season friendly feeling will be abound as neither side have too much to play for, and World Cup bound players are either rested or tip-toeing around the pitch to avoid ruining their summer dream.
Ezequiel Lavezzi, we meet again. The Argentine striker is linked with Chelsea several times a week but it's one of those rumours which seems to have a good deal of foundation. Jose Mourinho likes players such as Lavezzi who work hard and concentrate on the team, and the goals he could bring, from more than one position, would be of huge benefit to the Chelsea squad.
Gazzetta dello Sport are one of the most famous European newspapers. Their big pink pages were printed on to the memory of many a young football fan in the UK whilst watching Gazzetta Football Italia, all those years ago!
Thomas Muller leaving Bayern Munich would have been like Ryan Giggs leaving Old Trafford in his pomp. No Bayern player has made more appearances than Muller this season, the only player at the club with more minutes under his belt during the current campaign is goalkeeper Manuel Neuer.
