Toni Kroos has been in the news this week as reports have grown about the interest of Manchester United and other clubs. The player has a contract until June 2015 but has so far refused any offers from Bayern Munich to extend his deal and now doesn't want to talk until the summer, which is providing worry for the Bundesliga team.
Bayern Munich obviously want to keep Kroos and are willing to give him a big pay rise, but won't put him on the same deal as their best paid players. There are a group currently on €10m a year according to Bild and they include Lahm, Schweinsteiger, Ribery and Gotze.
Volker Struth is the agent for both Gotze and Kroos and according to Sunday's edition of the German Kicker magazine, the agent is ware of the wage disparity and wants the club to address that. Bayern won't go so high but Bild say Manchester United will.
If Kroos had a good World Cup he'd only be a few months away from being able to sign a pre-contract agreement with another club, and then leave Bayern Munich for free. Kroos is considered one of the best young midfielders in Europe and David Moyes would surely be keen to sign him given the chance.
Bild end their piece by saying 'Manchester United wants Kroos at any price. Unlike Bayern...'
