Chelsea for some time have been linked with a move for Mauro Icardi. The Inter Milan forward is one of the most controversial figures in Italian football right now and his personality doesn't appear to immediately fit with Jose Mourinho. Icardi, 21, is married to Wanda Nara, 28, and their relationship has been extremely public.
Wanda Nara used to be married to Maxi Lopez, with whom she has three children. Lopez took Icardi under his wing and tried to help his fellow Argentine settle in Italy. Icardi spent a lot of time with the family and even went on holidays with them, Lopez probably saw him as a little brother figure... that is until Icardi stole his wife. That wasn't the most unpleasant aspect of the whole thing, Icardi continually flaunted the relationship at Lopez and, much worse, used his former friend's children as part of some kind of twisted media war.
The Inter Milan footballer appeared to be more childish than the children he was using and his reputation rightly took a battering. Icardi has produced the goods on the pitch which makes glancing a blind eye to all of that something which many clubs would be happy to do. But Chelsea and Mourinho? Apparently so.
The club are in pole position to sign Icardi, say Calciomercato, despite growing interest from other English clubs. Inter Milan value Icardi at €35m, which works out to be around £26m. His contract ends in June 2016 and there's every possibility a summer sale will happen.
