Just over a week ago, we covered claims from Italy of Chelsea trying to buy young Serbian Marko Grujic. Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport said that Chelsea were so keen on doing a deal for the young player that they'd already made a bid for him.
The interest for Gazzetta dello Sport was that Inter Milan were interested too, and they'd made a bid for the midfielder. However, Inter Milan's bid was €2m, whereas Chelsea were claimed to have put a €4m offer on the table, which would obviously be more appealing to the player's current club Red Star Belgrade,.
In the Italian report it was also stated that Manchester United were interested in the 19 year old, but Chelsea apparently making a bid obviously saw them move ahead. However, it's been claimed in Serbia that Manchester United have sent an official to watch the footballer in action tonight.
Serbia's U21 side face Italy's U21 side and 'Hot Sport' say Manchester United have sent an official to get a report on Grujic and see if they wish to try and sign the player themselves.
