The Spanish media seem pretty confident that the Chelsea youngster Charlie Musonda will have his stay at Real Betis extended for one more year. Several outlets are claiming his renewal, after a Chelsea official spoke about the matter.
In an interview for the Belgian magazine Knack, Piet De Visser said: "We have loaned him for a year to Betis, where he performed admirably. Give him another season and I reckon he will be ready for Chelsea." (via Voetbal Nieuws)
However, the Spanish websites have changed the quote slightly “Musonda will leave on loan for one more season and he’ll soon be ready to be back”.
Musonda’s price has increased considerably after his good spell at Betis and now several European clubs are after him. That’s why things got more complicated for the Spanish club to renew his loan.
According to Marca, Betis officials were in London yesterday and made Chelsea an offer. They have no hope of signing Musonda permanently or having a buying option in the loan contract, but extending the loan is a very possible option, although they will have to spend some money on it.
The Spanish newspaper says that Chelsea, Betis, Musonda and his family all want him to spend another season at the Spanish side.
