Manchester United's Chris Smalling has been taken to hospital as a precaution following a sickening clash of heads whilst playing for England.
He challenged Holland's Klass-Jan Huntelaar for an aerial ball and their heads hit with some force, the ball going into England's net from the Dutchman.
Huntelaar could be seen with blood and grass in his mouth and appeared to have a broken nose. Chris Smalling was taken off on a stretcher suffering from a head wound. England's Joe Hart could then be seen clearing blood from his goalmouth after the incident.
Smalling regained consciousness but along with Huntelaar has been sent to hospital for further observation. Manager Stuart Pearce was typically straight to the point after the match "Chris Smalling split his head open and he has gone to hospital."
Holland won the match 3-2, Arjen Robben grabbing a late winner.
