On Wednesday, Chong labelled himself as a 'future player of Manchester United' on both his Twitter and Instagram accounts, along with a photograph of him grinning from ear to ear wearing the club's kit.
Chong was approached by Manchester United last year and hasn't always been hugely keen on leaving Feyenoord and the Netherlands. In January, he tolf FR12.nl that he was aware of the interest from England, but was very much concentrating on staying where he was.
"It's true that Manchester United are interested in me, but I want to stay at Feyenoord. There is absolutely no question that I'm not going to stay with the club. Feyenoord is now coming up with a plan for how they see me in the coming years at the club. I am hopeful that it will be good and that I'm going to sign a contract with Feyenoord."
Further talks changed things and Chong now appears much more confident and happy about the move, which is a big step for the youngster, who doesn't turn 17 until December.
