Ascoli are hopeful they can soon complete the deal to bring Leeds United midfielder Tommaso Bianchi to the club on a permanent deal. The 27-year-old has been on loan with the Serie B side for second half of the season after falling out of favour at Leeds United.
Tutto Ascoli Calcio have claimed Ascoli sporting director Francesco Marroccu is working on a deal to sign Bianchi from Leeds United, and it’s been confirmed the Italian club are likely to activate the right of redemption they have on the player. Marroccu will this week hold meetings with the other Ascoli directors this week to discuss their transfer strategy, and Bianchi will be on the agenda. The midfielder has impressed since he joined Ascoli in the last transfer window, and he’s been influential helping the club avoid relegation.
Ascoli will be confident they can get a deal done for Bianchi, and Marroccu will be key to getting this done. The former Cagliari director brought in Bianchi during the last transfer window despite the concerns over the long term fitness of the Leeds United midfielder. Bianchi did have his discipline problems whilst in Italy, but the positive thing is that he proved his fitness to Ascoli, after suffering two knee injuries playing for Leeds United.
