Earlier, this week Arsenal completed the signing of Swiss international Granit Xhaka in a €45m deal from Borussia Monchengladbach, and reports in Germany suggest the Gunners could now be interested in signing one of his international teammates.
According to German newspaper Bild, Wolfsburg star Rocardo Rodriguez could soon follow Xhaka to the Emirates, with the Swiss international having a release clause of €26m that expires in June.
Bild reckon Nacho Monreal is not getting younger, and Kieran Gibbs is injury prone, which has forced Arsenal to sign a left-back.
Andries Jonker, who is a scout at Arsenal, previously worked as an assistant coach at Wolfsburg till 2019 is said to be a big fan of Rodriguez, and he could have suggested the Gunners to sign the Swiss left-back.
The player was not at his best this season, but is still just 23, and clearly has the quality in him to play for a top team in the Premier League.
