Leeds United star Mirko Antenucci is open to returning to Italy in this transfer window after finding his chances limited this season. The Italian arrived from Ternana in 2014, and despite being the top scorer for the Championship side last season the player has been watching from the sidelines in recent months.
TMW have revealed Serie B sides Ascoli, Novova, Bari and Cagliari are all monitoring the situation with Antenucci. It has been claimed by TMW the Leeds United forward has had several proposals from clubs in his home country, and the player will be able to sign a pre-contract agreement this month because he’s out of contract at the end of the season. Leeds United risk losing Antenucci in the summer on free transfer because of his contract situation, and may decide to cash in on the player before the transfer window closes.
Antenucci was Leeds United's top scorer last season, but he's failed to hold down a regular place in the starting eleven during this current campaign. The forward has only started eleven games in the league, scoring five goals. The 31 year old’s last start in the Championship came in the victory over Queens Park Rangers back in November.
