Marca are excited this morning as they can finally see an end coming to the Luka Modric saga. Along with their partners in crime, AS, they have been pushing this story for weeks and we had expected AS to lead with this today but perhaps their journalist, who had literally been stalking Modric around Split in Croatia, has been arrested.
It's claimed that Modric has a ticket for a private plane (do you need tickets for private planes?) and will be landing in Madrid soon. Apparently the only thing delaying an imminent announcement is that Spurs are working on bringing in a replacement to appease fans and probably Andre Villas Boas. Perhaps his plane will have to do the almost ritualistic circling of Barajas airport in Madrid for a little longer than usual.
Marca say that the Portuguese manager is still very keen on Moutinho but he's got too high a price tag for Daniel Levy so Yann M'Vila could be a more likely option, with Rennes keen to negotiate an exit this summer.
They also claim that Modric will receive less money at Real Madrid than he did at Tottenham but that his desire to play for Jose Mourinho's side outweighed any financial concerns.
If this saga really does come to an end today, and we have our doubts through worn down cynicism, then that'll be two of North London's best players moving on within a day of each other.
