Manchester United are on the verge of signing Pedro from Barcelona, according to Spanish newspaper Marca on Tuesday. Whilst Catalan newspaper Sport say the transfer of Pedro from Barcelona to Manchester United is imminent.
Both think Pedro will be a Manchester United player very soon and that Barcelona's original wishes to keep him for the European Super Cup look set to fail. Therefore Pedro is apparently playing his goodbye match for Barcelona at the Camp Nou tomorrow against AS Roma in the Gamper Trophy.
Another player set to say his goodbyes is... well Nicolas Gaitan of course! Portuguese newspaper A Bola say in their Wednesday edition that Gaitan will say goodbye to fans after the Supercup match on Sunday. It'll be his second supposed goodbye match after one in the US which didn't go too well and didn't end up being his goodbye either.
A Bola say the impending exit of Angel Di Maria, pictured arriving for his medical at a Doha clinic today, means Gaitan will soon be arriving at Manchester United to replace him. So that would be one out in Di Maria and two in. Gaitan and Pedro in the squad would be a colossal boost on Di Maria last season.
We will just have to wait and see if Pedro or Gaitan sign after the sagas or Sergio Ramos and Dani Alves. Both would be excellent additions to the squad and the team. I would still like to see United signing an imposing centre half as we are short of a team leader at the back. Sell and replace David De Gea A.S.A.P as I think all the uncertainty surrounding his future is going to impact on the team.
