Rumours linking Manchester United with a move for Saul Niguez have grown over the past few days. Those suspicious of transfer rumours may note that the reports have grown since Saul's good performance against Real Madrid and goal against Carlo Ancelotti's side. It's almost as if the 20 year's old's increased profile demanded such rumours be dragged up again.
The Sun have been chief among those pushing it and say that Manchester United are lining up a summer move for the Atletico Madrid player. They also state that Saul being taken into the Jorge Mendes agency stable, which they state is happening, would be a good sign for Manchester United. There could be some truth in that, it was Mendes who masterminded David de Gea's move from Atletico to the Premier League club.
Spain's AS have picked up the rumours and their chief gossip Manolete says Manchester United tried to sign Saul both last summer and in the winter transfer window, both times being met with outright refusal from Atletico Madrid. The Spanish champions have plans to up Saul's wages in the summer and aren't keen on selling the midfielder.
