Lazio and Uruguay keeper Fernando Muslera is set to leave Lazio after they won't agree to his wage demands. He has one year left on his current deal, but surely Lazio would try and get some cash rather than let him go on a free in a year's time?

The young keeper has been linked with Spurs recently, but I suppose that would only be on the cards if they ship out Gomes and leave new signing Friedel and Cudicini to fight for the back up role. Or is it that 'Arry is planning to make Friedel his #1?

I also found a story stating that United had shown an interest in the past, but if the De Gea signing goes through (has it?), then perhaps that's wishful thinking on someone's part.

Numerous Serie A clubs would surely be in the market as well.

He could be a good pickup for any of the English clubs looking for a young keeper. Good shot stopper, sometimes makes some odd decisions, but getting better all the time. Deserves to be somewhere better than Lazio. <whistle>

Having seen him in some games, I cannot help but think he would flop big time in England and that people considering him as a potential target for their team are setting themselves up for disappointment.

He makes a mess almost every single time when he comes out to claim a cross, an element inherent to the English game. I think he is more jittery than Gomes in his decision-making, and that's saying something.

A good shot-stopper, yes, but hardly anything more. I'd be happy to be proved wrong, but at the moment I think he is not suited for Premier League football.
