Spanish newspaper Marca have a feature in their Monday edition on Real Betis and the struggle the Sevilla club have had getting transfers right. Spanish clubs outside of the absolute elite, simply don't have transfer funds even comparable to mid table Premier league teams, and therefore they have to make sure every penny is spent correctly.
That's not always the case, Real Betis took on Brazilian striker Damiao over the winter, but things haven't exactly gone to plan. One move that has worked out well is the loan of Charly Musonda, and so Betis are incredibly keen to keep him.
Replacing Musonda would again be tricky, so it's fortunate for Betis that the player is very happy in Seville and would like to stay at the Spanish club. Marca say Musonda is now himself in 'advanced talks' with Chelsea to arrange a deal for next season. Musonda could likely get a move to a bigger Spanish club on loan, but is happy where he is.
