Reports in English and Spanish media have suggested Manchester City have already signed Aymeric Laporte.
They young French defender is reported to have a €50m release clause, and City have agreed to pay the entire release clause, as the Basque club are in no mood of negotiating.
Incoming City boss Pep Guardiola is said to be a big fan of Laporte, and made a special request to City to wrap up a deal for the defender.
The player suffered an ankle injury towards the end of March, and was ruled out for the rest of the season, with many claiming that could derail his move to City.
On Saturday, Josu Urrutia, President of Atheltic Club Bilbao, was asked about the future of Laporte by Spanish daily Marca, to which he replied:"I don't rule out Laporte continuing, as I would not rule out another continuing. I am aware of the rumours but there's nothing official. It is normal for people to look at our players because they are at a very high level."
The 21-year-old has often been linked to Manchester City in the last few months, and this is one of those deals that looks done and dusted.
