It's tradition for football and footballers to be celebrated in the Rio Carnival and this year along with Brazil legends such as Romario and Ronaldo, there was an English addition.
Dancers from Uniao da Ilha samba school took their positions during the celebrations with a theme based around London to Rio as the next two Olympics are being held in the cities. Once the Olympics in London have been the held the baton is passed over to Rio and the dancers used the theme to great effect with people dressed as black taxis and English knights.
Of most interest to football fans will be the decked out as football heroes past and present. Eleven Brazil players were included and eleven England stars including Wayne Rooney, David Beckham, John Terry and Michael Owen were also honoured as part of the parade.
They may look a bit scary but it's meant as a compliment to those depicted.
