What would your team be for tomorrow nights game against Rotherham
Lambert already said he won't be taking the game lightly with the defeat to Bradford still fresh in the mind and injuries to Clark, Baker and Luna although they will have fitness test tomorrow. so what do we think had a tough week so should we rest players altough after that we dont have a game for just over 2 weeks.
Bacuna Okore Vlaar Bennett
Albrighton Sylla Westwood Tonev
Steer Herd Lowton Gardner El Ahmadi N'Zogbia Bowery
with my FM managers hat on ..
Gardner for west wood for me but i would stick with the formation/tactics from the second half of liverpool game
that's not what will happen mind but its what i would like to do
Start strong score plenty then make changes I also want Jed Steer to start.
Lowton/ Bacuna Vlaar Okore Bennett
Sylla El Ahmadi
Guzan Herd Gabby Delph Weimann Westwood Bowery
It's a cup tie. Rotherham will be extremely competitive. Possibly too competitive for their own good. We need players who can take a bit of a battering. But it's also an opportunity to give fresh legs an outing. I'd start with
Lowton Okore Clark Luna
Albrighton Helenius Tonev
Bench: Guzan Bacuna Gabby Weimann El Ahmadi Westwood
Note: not sure Herd and N'zogbia are ready; pretty sure N'zogbia isn't.
My team would be
Bacuna Okore Clark Bennett
Gardner Sylla KEA
We're all wrong, as I suspect we knew we would be.
Team: Steer, Bacuna, Okore, Vlaar, Bennett, El Ahmadi, Westwood, Delph, Weimann, Benteke, Agbonlahor
Subs: Guzan, Clark, Helenius, Herd, Sylla, Tonev, Lowton
1-0 Villa 19 minutes Weimann
i was actually surprised when i saw how strong the team was, but then BBC made a good point about us having the weekend off, and also the fact that Lambert wont want any upsets again in this competition, given the past.
We looked good at times first half, but i missed Benteke's goal. I actually missed both goals, but sure, so goes life...
Delph looks good again! and Gabby still running ;-)
Finally, finally, finally .... Delph has scored a goal!
Ridiculously poor since Delph went off. No drive, no intent going forward, just sitting back, all I've seen is Okore and Vlaar pass the ball, no cutting edge in the final 3rd. Woeful. Goal difference is so crucial, we need to win at least 10-0 and get the 3 points.
Solid win. UTV
Was well impressed with Sylla when he came on.
He is going to have a big season if he stays injury free.
Defence looked good, though to be honest, they weren't tested that much, given the opposition. Weathered some early pressure, and then we just kept the ball - as we should have.
Thought Bennett looked solid though at LB, which was nice to see, as his confidence could have taken a real dent given Luna playing the first few games.
