Kia Joorabchian probably isn't regarded as the most football club friendly agent in world football. His dealings with Carlos Tevez and others have seen his reputation become something of a tarnished one through third party ownership and player's making unreasonable, and not always entirely honest, demands of their employers..
The phrase 'wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him' will have been used by many people when talking about the transfer fixer. However, this time it doesn't look like everything is his fault, even if his client Willian looks set to become a tug-of-war rope between London rivals Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.
Willian revealed how happy he was with the situation, him moving to Spurs, a few nights ago when he tweeted that he had the best agents in the world and posted a photo of himself alongside side Kia Joorabchian, he even used the hashtag #kia as if his representative was some kind of brand. There was talk of him going through a Tottenham medical and he was at the club's facilities when his entourage were informed that Chelsea had made a better offer direct to the owner of Anzhi and that it had been accepted over Tottenham's.
Russian outlet Sport Express says it's good relations between club owners Suleiman Kerimov and Roman Abramovich which has helped Chelsea get ahead, and of course being willing and able to offer more money. They say that Chelsea was also Willian's first choice and he jumped at the chance to be able to join the other London club.
The outlet are sure that Willian will now be joining Chelsea and claim that Abramovich has 'killed' any chance Tottenham had of getting the player. There's always the possibility that the name of Chelsea is being used to give Tottenham a scare and make them offer whatever Kia Joorabchian wants. If Tottenham really want Willian, and are confident of a big cash injection soon, then it's possible they can beat even Chelsea on this one. Both Anzhi and Joorabchian will be well aware of that.
