As a Yorkshire lad and a Villa fan i thought i would give it a go at writing the pre match article .

My other motive is that this will get me out of doing the house work on my weekend off .

This game is a game i feel we need to win to maintain the gap between between us and the relegation zone and also this would give us a chance to get the Huddersfield game out of our system and get back to winning way's .

The line up as we all are aware will be largely decided by Bruce on the availability of player's due to injuries from report's we still have a good few first team player's out with injuries .

The main man today for Villa could well be Jedinak he is now starting to show something like half decent form for Villa and is looking like a solid performer week in week out who Bruce can rely on to do a shift .

The other midfielder who is due a very good game is Hourihane i have seen him in action at Oakwell for Barnsley and when he is on song and in form he can literally destroy the opposition i hope he can if he play's take this match by the scruff of the neck and show us all what he is capable of .

The other thing i would also like to see is if we have put this game to bed with 20/30 minute's left is for Bruce to give the youngster's a run out from report's some of these player's have done realy well from the bench when fetched on .

My line up would be injuries allowing

Johnstone, Bree, Chester, Baker, Taylor, Jedinak, Adomah, Lansbury, Hourihane, Amavi, Kodjia .

I would play in something like a 4-1-4-1 formation with Kodja up front bagging a few for us to get back to wining way's .

Time now to take the dog for a walk till 12 then the Red Lion call's and i have stayed out of the way of the vac and the duster's .

I think that we are, on paper at least, a better team than our results show.

Jedinak is showing his worth and its time now they have the freedom for Hourihane and Lansbury to step up and show their worth. I am pleased top see Amavi back in the team on the wing or at full back I like him as a player.

We should play better against the better teams and I am forever hopeful that we will soon gel and give someone a spanking.

Got to be a win today

Bit of a test. We need to get back to being able to get results in these matches. We weren't far off earlier in the season but took a massive dive in January with players away and changing half the team. Think this team has the potential to do it; we didn't quite click against Huddersfield but even so that was a much improved performance. Continue that improvement and we will get results, hopefully starting today.

Think the team above is the one we'll see. Even if Hutton is fit I think Bruce won't risk him for this match, and he needs to give Bree his chance.

Not worried by relegation fears; we play enough weak teams to get more points. But we need to start building momentum for a good end to the season; losing doesn't do the team any good at all.

Yipee!!! 2-0. Lansbury injured in the warm-up, Baker early on. Not good. But we seem to have strength in depth.

And we're in the top half. 4 wins in 5. Progress.

Progress indeed I just hope Bruce now sees the error playing Kodjia out on the wing.

Well done pleased with that.

Great result just what we needed apart from two more injuries .

What is the new's on Lansbury and Baker has any one got any new's yet ? .

Fair play to the team. Even with all these injuries they get a good result against a decent team and another clean sheet. Delighted with them all including Johnstone who I've criticised in the past. Keep it up!!
