Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to Aston Villa looked like it was very much back on. The Molde manager has again spoken to Villa representatives and has been pictured at the airport today with his wife.
Norwegian newspaper Dagbladet carries quotes from the former Manchester United striker tonight, who is reported to have said "We will soon announce how it will be in the future, you'll know soon enough."
If it meant he was staying at Molde than surely he would simply have said that, his comment gives the impression that a move is on the cards and an announcement could be made soon.
Aston Villa are not thought to have made further steps to speak to other prospective managers and everything is pointing to Solskjaer having been offered the job.
Morten Gamst Pedersen also spoke to the Norwegian press today and said that Solskjaer should take the job in England if offered "He has certainly learned a lot from Ferguson, and he has been to Molde now and done well there.
"I know that there is a dialogue between him and Villa. And should it happen that he gets there, it is great for him."
Tonight Solskjaer had dinner with Molde backer Rokke who hadn't been happy with the way the possible move was being dealt with, Solskjaer said about the evening "We have had a very pleasant conversation. It has been a nice evening of good food."
Aston Villa fans will be more interested in what will be revealed next, you would think that the whole drama suggested he'd be leaving but it could just be a long drawn out decision to stay.
The Norwegian press are suggesting he's off but the English press say the opposite, the Birmingham Mail has just - after we published the title to this - said he's pulled out of the running.
Make your own guess. If he has pulled out then it sends Aston Villa back to square one.
Further update: Aston Villa have now confirmed that Solskjaer has pulled out of the running, citing not wanting to move his family.
What a mad hour, sorry for the confusion. Lambert and Martinez are now joint favourites.
