Ashley Young will bag £33 million in wages by moving to
Mark Hughes is still interested in talking to Randy Lerner
about becoming Aston Villa manager.
Carlo Ancelotti cannot work in the Premier League for the
next 12 months because of the £6million pay-off he agreed with Chelsea.
In a surprise development yesterday a huge surge in betting
made McLeish favourite for the job. Steve Freeth, spokesman for Bet365, said he
was shocked at how much money had been placed on the Blues boss. “I started
getting a number of requests for McLeish once Martinez had said no and I
laughed it off as Blues fans just having a bit of banter with their neighbours
from across the city,” he said. “However, Big Eck is now the favourite for the
job. After initially thinking this really can’t happen, I’m also starting to
think, well, could it? “The interest over the last 24 hours has been unbelievable. A host of people have opened up new accounts to back him. “We’ve also seen nibbles for Leeds United boss Simon
Grayson and Brighton’s Gus Poyet today – but nothing like the type of interest we’ve seen in McLeish,”
Dutch legend Frank Rijkaard, 48, would say yes to Aston
Villa owner Randy Lerner should the American offer him the vacant manager's job
at Villa Park.
Are there anymore snippets from the gutter boys?
I thought Ancelotti had that clause removed? Doesn't really matter though as he is taking a year out.
Otherwise a drab day in Villa land AGAIN! We need this manager situation sorting, we need faces coming and going and we aren't going to do it by faffing again.
Only becuase the press on a whole have got most things wrong General. It's just what i call them now. The gutter press. They annoy me with some of the crap they write. That's all. As you say, they are pretty accurate today. Even more so with the McLeish breaking news. :-(
UTV and keep smiling ho hum :-)
