Djibril Sidibe is the star of many transfer stories in France this week, not all agreeing with each other. West Ham United are increasingly linked to Ligue 1 players and if a young French footballer looks like he could be moving to England... the West Ham claims soon follow.
France Football this week claimed West Ham are prepared to offer Lille something in the region of €17m to €18m to sign the footballer. PSG were said to be providing the competition for West Ham, and there general interest from England was covered.
French newspaper L'Equipe claim in their Wednesday newspaper that Sunderland and Watford also want Sidibe, with the latter club being the most insistent. AS Monaco are also dragged into the equation, and it would appear Sidibe is a very wanted man indeed.
The 23 year old moved from his local and boyhood club Troyes to Lille in 2012. He's represented France at youth and U21 level, and is a current reservist for Didier Deschamps' Euro 2016 squad, although that has a lot to do with injuries.
A left back primarily, the right footed defender can also play as a right back. Sidibe extended his contract with Lille last year and it now runs until June 2019.
