Can someone enlighten me as to why we bothered buying him if he's not going to play? if he's "one for the future" we could have spent the money better elsewhere!

Last night was the perfect game for a player like that....

cause he will be awesome in the Championship, and Lambert does not drop players if they have been performing, which Westwood and Delph both have (relatively of course)

I would have played him with Westwood and Delph though and dropped Gabby

I agree that he should play if he is up to it and as Delph is now out for 2 games maybe we will see how good he is - or otherwise

I am sorry that Delph is out as he has done very well recently pity all of our players don't show the same commitment.

I think he was bought because we don't have enough depth in midfield. He's come on as a sub a few times, so PL will have a good idea of how he shapes up. Likewise Dawkins. Now Delph is out for two matches at least one of KEA and Sylla are likely to be played, possibly both.

Not sure how PL will approach the Reading match. We need to attack because potentially Reading have a defence our forwards can carve up. I still think Benteke is better being played wide, from which he can create enormous damage, having just that bit more time.

to be honest, i think we had a fair amount of depth in midfield, just not enough quality. Indeed, as centre midfielders go, we have

Bannan, Ireland, Westwood, KEA, Delph, Herd and now Sylla. Thats seven for two spots?!!!

Unless he thinks that Ireland is too much trouble, and Bannan and Herd not good enough, which may be the case.

Lambert has brought in three central midfielders, no better than what we already had. Don't forget also, MAKOUN. So we have EIGHT central midfielders! Yet, our defence remains inexperienced and vulnerable,

You COULD conceivably claim he was 'clueless'. You can't really argue with that unfortunately.

Think Ireland is off PL's radar. Makoun we don't actually have. Herd also doesn't seem to interest PL, and Bannan I think he'll only select for certain games. That leaves Westwood, KEA, Delph and now Sylla.

I think he only went for Sylla after we didn't get Sissoko. If we'd got Sissoko I think he'd have been playing him pretty quick. With Sylla PL probably thinks he's good enough to play (I hope he does!), but not to the point of upsetting the Westwood/Delph partnership which seemed to be doing OK.

Now Delph is out it means he'll have to play one of KEA or Sylla, or play both and drop one of the forwards.
