Ok- so it's not long now before that old pesky transfer window slams shut. We have made a number of ok signings- but who do we feel is still missing from our squad who would join us?

Obvious starter for ten would be a goal scorer - and Pat Murphy is reporting that we are in advanced talks with Jonathan Kodjia from Bristol City. I'd sign him in an instance - scored 20 odd goals for them last season so can find the net in this division. Sign him!

An alternative option would be Afobe at Bournemouth who seems to be a bench warmer for them now. He's too good for that so why not stick in a bid?

Thoughts?

Kodjia would be a good signing; hoped we would get him earlier, but looks like Bristol City were waiting to see what was on offer. Seems we nearly signed Hernandez, but couldn't agree terms.

No news yet on either the attacking midfielder or the loan we were supposed to be after.

The striker position is the most important. Then it's a question of bedding the signings down. Last Saturday showed we can't just stick new players in and expect everything to run smoothly. I think we have enough for a good season, but maybe not enough for promotion this year. We'll see.

Looks like we have signed Kodja - £11m to start with. Excellent bit of news - just what we needed. Quite a few teams were after him so great he's signed for the Villa.
I'm pleased with this signing but man alive, we have had to push the boat out again. £15M for a guy who cost £2.5M just a year ago! Sell on clause too on a four year contract. No doubt big wages to boot. Clearly Hernandez was first choice but Hull wouldn't release him until they had a replacement. Hull and Norwich were in for Kodjia. If Norwich had beaten Hull to Kodjia, we would have missed out on Hernandez. So I guess we do the right thing by nicking Kodjia and Hull get to keep Hernandez. Norwich meanwhile, lose out to Villa AGAIN, as they lost out on McCormack too.

Guess some will be asking how many strikers we want!
Ok so we now have people who can score goals! Still need that creative player and a left winger to provide the assists.

Can't have enough strikers! Think we now have a good mix, RDM can keep things fresh up front and pick who he needs. Should have enough depth to cope with injuries; Gestede being out showed how stretched we were.

Well Gabby's still there!

just like that bad smell your nose gets put through after using a toilet after a fat bloke.

Just signed Albert Adomah from Boro. Looks like Adama Traore is heading the other way. Is this a good deal for us?

Yep. Gets Adama's salary off the books; he was never going to produce it here. Reading Adomah's CV looks like he's a useful attacking midfielder/winger. The way RDM is setting up the team that's the sort of player we need.

Not sure. Adomah has played his whole career in the lower leagues. He's now surplus at Middlesbrough and it's hard to see how he is possibly worth £6m. Traore had huge potential. It could go either way.

I really hope this signing and that of Kodjia don't turn out to be disastrous panic buys, because they look like it at the moment. Would be delighted to be proved wrong.
Don't think you'd class Kodjia as a panic buy. He had a great 1st season in the championship last year and proved he can score goals in this division. We desperately needed a proven goalscorer and have got one.

Kodjia scores goals, makes goals, everything sicknote Traore failed to deliver.

we needed an experienced championship winger ,tick.

We have removed an unknown, who could of might of but never did for us.

The team looks good in all areas, the management team is doing a better job than what we have seen in years, our owner has delivered as he promised.

we have had a slow start, its now time to start moving upwards.

Happy days, excellent transfer ins and outs.
