Tottenham Hotspur will be alert after claims Leeds United are one of the favourites to sign Charlton Athletic goalkeeper Nick Pope. The former Arsenal youth player is expected to leave Charlton, and a move to Elland Road is likely to result in Tottenham target Bailey Peacock-Farrell leaving the club
The Coventry Telegraph have revealed today that along with Burnley Leeds United are in pole position to sign Pope after Charlton were relegated from the Championship. The West Yorkshire side will be keen to bring in a new goalkeeper this summer because of the issues they are having convincing Peacock-Farrell committing to the club.
The 19-year-old has been offered a two-year extension, but yet he has signed this, and with his current deal set to expire Tottenham are looking to land the youngster. Eric Grimes is also likely to leave Leeds United as the Irish U21 international goalkeeper has been linked with a move to Rotherham United.
In April we covered reports that Tottenham were interested in Peacock-Farrell, and they could look to move in on him when his contract expires. Peacock-Farrell impressed this season when he made his debut for Leeds United when they took on QPR. The young goalkeeper is highly rated, and is tipped for a bright future.
