Wayne Rooney has scotched reports that he could be set to set leave Manchester United. The striker, currently out injured, said via his Twitter account that he's at the club to stay and anything suggesting otherwise was rubbish.
Newspapers, led by The Sun, claimed that there had been a fall-out between the England striker and Sir Alex Ferguson which could lead to his exit from the club. A price tag of £50m was fictitiously put on the player and Manchester City deemed to be interested and his most likely destination.
Wayne Rooney has now dismissed all of this by tweeting:
We'll forgive his spelling mistake but at least Twitter has proved good for dismissing nuisance reports of trouble at football clubs.
