More About Me
A reasonable bloke...plays devils advocate too much, but doesn't takes fools lightly and swears way too much.
And happy to criticise the teams I support if it's needed.
Likes (some of) the French (incredible cheese, bread and wine) so that won't help my cause.

Capenhurst Villa 1 - 1 Maghull  aet   penalties... apparently 4-2 !!!  Pyke Cup

Saturday November 8th 2014 kick off 1.30pm

I may find it difficult to put the events of Saturday into words, but bear with me, I could find a way.

A decent first half of football produced a goal a piece. From an attacking point, fine efforts, but from a defensive side, you must say there were questions marks on both occasions.

After a cagey start from both sides,…

Ashville 0 - 1 Maghull

Saturday November 1st 2014  kick off 3pm

This game a had a similar feel to the one seven days previous.

More possession than the law allows, some great moves and some very good performances. But deary me, the finishing !!

A first half of more or less attack against defence, gave us the jitters as no matter what Maghull did, the ball was not going in the net. That Rooney bloke could have been watching as his alleged bit of…

Ten men, AGAIN, lots of possession and not taking chances.

Mallaby 2-0 Maghull

Saturday 25th October 2014  kick off 3pm

If this scoreline had read Mallaby 2 Maghull 6 it would not have been a misleading tale.

But for that to have happened, you have to at least test the keeper.. On this occasion it didn't happen.

For the first half hour, Mallaby barely got out of their own half. But with poor finishing and sloppy play, Maghull managed to conjure up a half time deficit, after being in total control of…

Maghull 1-2 East Villa

Saturday 11th October 2014  kick off 2pm  LCFA Challenge Cup

You could call it a week to forget, or was it just deja vu !!

To think the club could be revisiting the same scenario of a couple of years ago, only this time during a season, beggars belief. But more of that later.

John McInnes stepped into the vipers nest called the managers seat, for the unforeseen future, to take over the side for the visit of the unbeaten East…
