The (Un)Official 2012 European Football Kit Championship

Right the ideas a simple one...taking Blatters' penalty rant to its logical conclusion...fuck all that deciding it on the pitch..lets let the kits decide!

The format will remain the same as the actual tournamnet layout (groups etc)....all teams obv have two kits but only one (the better one obv.) will be chosen to represent them. Simples!!!

Think Big Act Bigger

The sacking of Kenny Dalglish was greeted with mixed emotions. The die-hard fans of Liverpool, the scousers and those who have been supporting the club since/before Kenny Dalglish joined the club as a player felt it is a very harsh decision despite admitting that the season was a dull campaign from his part.

There are other groups of supporters who are sad to see their beloved “King Kenny” go but understands the psychology of the owners. Gone are those days when time was not a factor…

Shrewd or Sad?

After mounting speculation, few could claim to be shocked when Kenny Dalglish was relieved of his duties this afternoon but in my opinion, it’s a sad day for English Football.

I’ve said before that I believe Kenny Dalglish was the wrong appointment for Liverpool and I maintain that. He was the ideal man to steady the ship and give the place a lift following Roy Hodgson and the Hicks and Gillett debacle but a short-term fix was all he should ever have been.

Last summer the…

The to-and-Fro regarding THAT midfield position

As I write this, Manchester United are favourites to sign Shinji Kagawa for a reported £7 million to fill that attacking midfielder position all the fans have been craving. Is he Ferguson’s way of saying that Manchester City outmuscled United once more for a player (Eden Hazard)?

Regardless of whether Manchester United sign Hazard, Kagawa, both or neither, this player could be more important for the team should United ever consider signing him.…

My 23-man Squad

Frivolous blog post here that will be out of date by tomorrow, but for what it's worth, here's who I would take in my 23 man England squad for the Euros. We're playing a sexy 4-3-3 by the way.

1. Joe Hart

2. John Ruddy

3. Fraser Forster

4. Gary Cahill

5. Joeleon Lescott

6. Phil Jagielka

7. Ashley…

We'll Keep The Red Flag Flying High

There can be no denying it is a horrible feeling to lose the Premier League title to Manchester City. And in such dramatic circumstances. But it’s worth trying to gather a quick sense of perspective over events.

As a United fan since the founding season of the Premier League, success has been plentiful. However we have had to suffer a fair few defeats and setbacks along the way. This is just another such set back and, if anything, it is the least worrying of them all.

Roll back…

Divine Intervention

So, Liverpool Football Club lost an FA Cup Final.

Now due to this, the angst turns towards a cluster of players, the player selection and the demise of the club itself.

How fickle supporters have become since we have fallen from our pedestal.

Downing is crap, Henderson is worse, Spearing is now public enemy number one and all of those people who slated Andy Carroll for being inept and begging for him to be sold back to Newcastle in exchange for their ten game…

Wonderful Roy

So there you go. After what feels like a life time waiting for the FA to announce that Harry Redknapp will be the new England manager, they go and appoint Roy Hodgson.

Confused? Surprised? Baffled? Yes me too. Waiting for the punchline? Yes, me too.

You see whilst some had mentioned Hodgson as a potential candidate, most viewed him as a fall back should, for whatever reason, Redknapp knock the job back. We now learn from the FA that Hodgson was the first and only manager they…
