5 Things We Can Expect from this Season
1: People to have trouble saying “Etihad Stadium”
Man city have signed a record breaking deal with Etihad by selling the naming rights of their stadium, to help them compete with what had to be their… Continue

I received bad news tonight, Jim Jefferies has been sacked by Hearts and that nutcase Vladimir Romanov. In the last 7 years Hearts have gone through 7 managers John Robertson,, George Burley,, Graham Rix,, Valdas Ivanauskas, Anatoly Korobochka,Stephen Frail and Csaba Laszlo and now Jim Jefferies joins the list.
It's a sad day, Jim Jefferies managed the team that won the Scottish Cup in 1998 and should have won more but that nutcase Romanov released all the good players. When is… Continue

There is inherent risk in losing any ‘star’ player, especially one of Cesc Fabregas’ exceptional quality. For the past 5 years he has made the most assists of any player in any of the top 5 European leagues. Given his comparatively reduced playing time, through a combination of injuries and Arsenal’s poor record in the latter stages of certain competitions, that is a truly impressive…

The striking conundrum at the top of the table
Each team at the top of the Barclays premier league has a world class forward line but with that world class tag each of them carries unnecessary baggage with them. With the pre season in full flow each of them will have set specific goals for the new season.…

Hi, Greetings from Istanbul, I have just read that Cardiff City have signed Kenny Miller from Turkish club Bursaspor. I can only ask one question which is, Do Cardiff know what they are doing? Because on the evidence of his games in Turkey, Kenny certainly struggled.
In fact for such a renowned and prolific striker in the Scottish Premier League to go to Bursaspor and not be able to hit a barn door from 30 paces in such a short space of time is remarkable. I watched him when… Continue

1 opinion is conjecture, 2 moves us toward a consensus. Firstly Paul Scholes, in a tellingly un-Paul Scholes manner, delved into the recesses of his mind to confront the issues surrounding his departure from International football. This was cathartic promotion, garnering headlines and coverage for his upcoming testimonial. Secondly Gary Neville, who just likes to talk, no excuse necessary, chose to continue his… Continue

Some really nice transfers have & will take place before we start (which for me will be the HARDEST SEASON in years)you will have your so called big 4.(UND,Chelsea,Arsenal,City) but?
Take a look at the way the Black cats have strenthened their team.
Spurs (if they hold Mordric & Bale) are in there with a chance.
Liverpool are looking like a team from 20 years ago.
So what are your thoughts ?

There’s an interesting concept that suggests, with the advent of Facebook, that protesting has been watered down into nothing more than a branded activity for those (“the young”) that should actually be chaining themselves to the forecourt of their nearest BP. Rather than the aforementioned chaining, people are now simply joining a Facebook group that matches up with their chosen issue, and that’s as far as it…

WTF is going on at Arsenal? Instead of the high quality additions such as Juan Mata, Eden Hazard, Pepe Reina, Gary Cahill that we were expecting to see in order to replace the disappointing class of Wenger's Wunderkids, we are seeing Nasri, Fabregas & Clichy leaving and a familiar charade of unknown 20 year olds mooted as replacements. As much as I have been a flag holder of the "In Wenger we trust" brigade for the last 6 years, I am pretty close to turning into a Wenger hater. Starting… Continue

Lost potential. We've all seen it in some young players. Players that were 'giving it as good as they could take' at an early age. Players that were on possibly everybody’s lips in there breakthrough days. Players that were placed in possible future world elevens. Basically players we all had high expectations of. Players that have now unfortunately been plying there footballing skills at a much lower level than we once didn’t expect from them.
The idea for this piece was… Continue

Good day fellow witnesses. First article (i think i am doing this wrong) anyway first topic is bayerns interest in a young 18 yr old striker named Jennings. Anyone seen him play? More importantly, if scouts all the way in germany have identified him as a talent worth "taking" why aren't other english teams hovering as per usual?
Second topis is charlie adam. Still yet to move from blackpool. Many know my stance on buying a new midfielder but there is a worry of lack of depth in this… Continue

The premier league is adored and followed all around the world but as we have seen in the champions league there was only one English club in the semi-final and they were humiliated in the final by their Spanish counterparts. The English national teams flatters to deceive each time they appear in a major tournament and are many times booed off the pitch by their own fans. It can be down to the difference in the footballing culture between the…

With the news that Aston Villa fans are protesting about Alex Mcleish potentially being appointed manager of the club, I thought that they should get behind the team regardless of who is the manager. After all, they support Aston Villa not whoever manages the club.

With just Tuesday’s friendly in Liege against Italy to negotiate before their Summer break, Giovanni Trapattoni’s Republic of Ireland squad can feel satisfied with their weekend’s work. With six games played and four left to contest in their campaign in Group B of qualifying for the 2012 European Championships the Irish squad know that their passage to Poland and the Ukraine is entirely in their own hands.
That said two of the four remaining games are against their rivals for… Continue

After such a hectic season in the football world. The European Under 21's tournment in Denmark is just what you need if your missing football this summer.
Competiting in the tournment is:
No Germany? No France? Surely this is Englands best chance yet to win the tournment?

I'm sure some of you have explored that site before however does anyone know what happened to it? It was a brilliant clone of the original 606 so I started to get attached to it whilst more members were joining in.

This looks like a good place to land after the disaster of JA606. 12yards is also a great site and you can switch between their format and classic 606 style. Of all the ones I flew around yesterday these two were the best by miles. C'Mon Randy...................make my day.
Moyes must be getting the cold sweats by now!
