Maghull 1-3 Southport Trinity

I would love to put some gloss on Saturdays proceedings, but in all honesty, it was a horror show.

Take away a 10 minute spell in the second half, in which Maghull equalised and then looked progressive, it was a day best forgotten and cast into the mire of bad performances.

The mystery of the changies, a stonking crowd and a return to the bad old ways

Saturday 13th October 2012

Maghull 4-2 Hale

The beginning of the season paid a nasty, return visit to Old Hall Field, with our lads starting in a trance and a very silly goal being conceded. 

After last weeks appeal for a good crowd, they turned up in their droves (we need more international weekends if this is the case) and where treated to a very good game. Unfortunately, that early lapse was not a start for the home fans.

Chester Nomads 3-2 Maghull

I may rant a little, so please bear with me today.

But beforehand, let us chat about the game itself. 

The home side came out all guns blazing for 5 minutes. Obviously thinking back to the first game of the season, when they came to Maghull and mugged us with two in the first ten minutes, then ultimately took the points after defending for their lives for the following eighty.

Maghull 8 - 1 Ellesmere Port

Ok, the opener came, probably closer too 10 to 12 seconds, but that doesn't work.

It was nice to see that Ellesmere Port decided not to start on time, as Maghull must have been close to a record time for a first goal. John Maguire profiting from some neat work down the left by the recalled Marko Parvas.
