Ten men, AGAIN, lots of possession and not taking chances.

Mallaby 2-0 Maghull

Saturday 25th October 2014  kick off 3pm

If this scoreline had read Mallaby 2 Maghull 6 it would not have been a misleading tale.

But for that to have happened, you have to at least test the keeper.. On this occasion it didn't happen.

For the first half hour, Mallaby barely got out of their own half. But with poor finishing and sloppy play, Maghull managed to conjure up a half time deficit, after being in total control of…

Smart choices, a blow to the chops and our own Chernobyl

Maghull 1-2 East Villa

Saturday 11th October 2014  kick off 2pm  LCFA Challenge Cup

You could call it a week to forget, or was it just deja vu !!

To think the club could be revisiting the same scenario of a couple of years ago, only this time during a season, beggars belief. But more of that later.

John McInnes stepped into the vipers nest called the managers seat, for the unforeseen future, to take over the side for the visit of the unbeaten East…

A slow start, red again, then total domination

Maghull 3-0 Helsby

Saturday 4th October 2014 kick off 3pm  league

What happened on Saturday, cannot happen very often, can it ?

Maghull, in the words of John Hastings, had to wake up and get out of bed. The visitors had made many dangerous moves into the home sides back four, getting through on a few occasions. But Lee Carrol and some shocking…

Three strikes and out, the calm in the storm and the Stamper of disapproval

Rainhill Town 0 - 3 Maghull

Tuesday 16th September 2014 kick off 7pm at Bootle FC

Thanks to the M62 and Liverpool stupidly deciding to play a home game while a final is on, caused my arrival was somewhat late. Thus missing the electric start of proceedings. So the ghost has snook in for the first 15 minutes.

A new centre back pairing, due to injury and suspension came forth, bringing with it a return of the old man …

A game of one half, a big phantom and silence is golden

Vauxhall Motors 3 - 1 Maghull

Saturday 27th September 2014  kick off 3pm

A lovely sunny day, a minutes silence for the passing of the wife of Vauxhall Motors FC chairman and a Liverpool County FA official during the week and the day was set for a fine game of football, on a great surface and fine surroundings.

Then the clouds appeared !!

A game of football took place, if you can call it that, and I am sure Vauxhall Motors will say they deserved the…

Firing on a lack of cylinders, a nightmare between the sticks and was it offside

Old Xavarians 1 - 3 Maghull

Saturday 20th September 2014  kick off 2pm

I would like to comment on the first half, but work duties and misinformation deigned my appearance to be at the half time whistle. When I thought I was early. Believe me, Natalie (a customer at work) was partly to blame and seems I am to know if it is a cup game, it will kick off at 2pm. Lesson learned

So, I have been told that Maghull should have been 3-0 up at the break, others…
