European Under 21's Denmark Discussions thread

Hey there,

After such a hectic season in the football world. The European Under 21's tournment in Denmark is just what you need if your missing football this summer.

Competiting in the tournment is:

Belarus

Czech Republic

Denmark

England

Iceland

Spain

Swizterland

Ukraine

No Germany? No France? Surely this is Englands best chance yet to win the tournment?

Anyways what are your opinions on the tournment and who do you reckon will win it?

I wouldn't the likes of Rodwell, Welbeck, Sinclair and Cleverley to be called up as well to see how they get on.

That should say, " I would like to see the likes of Rodwell, Welbeck, Sinclair and Cleverley called up as well to see how they get on".

Why can't we edit comments on Blogs?

Sinclair was rested after playing in the play-off final for Swansea on Monday. But yeah can't wait to see how he gets on in the premier league next season.

Wellbeck could do with another season on loan at Sunderland and hope to break into the Man U side in the season after that. Same with Sturridge would like to see him go back on loan to Bolton, just so both of them can play first team football as both are talented lads.

Also think that Jones should stay at Blackburn for another season and get some more experience under his belt before moving on.

I think we'll use that 4-3-3 formation against Spain in the first group game but I don't think the team that started today will start against Spain. There might be 1 or 2 changes.

I'd like to see Sinclair play instead of Rose although Rose didn't do too badly today. Why wasn't Sinclair there by the way? Do you know? Cleverley I thought done well when he came on.

Yes I'd agree that Sturridge, Smalling and Jones are good enough to be involved in the next squad. I wouldn't the likes of Rodwell, Welbeck, Sinclair and Cleverley to be called up as well to see how they get on.

Good start to the summer for the lads at Under 21 level.

Todays performance wasn't all that impressive, but i get the impression that most of the players didn't wanna get injuried before the tourament so went easy. Think Muamba might prove to be the weak link though. Was impressed by Rodwell though.

FYI - Some of these players are good enough to be in England squads in the next few months. Especially Sturridge and Rodwell aswell as Smalling and Jones. :).

England 2-0 up at half-time. Sturridge and Rose with the goals.

Gibbs on for Bertrand, Cork on for Muamba, Lansbury on for Henderson, Cleverley on for Welbeck and Albrighton on for Rose.

2nd half underway.

England U-21's team to play Norway:

Fielding, Mancienne, Smalling, Jones, Bertrand, Muamba, Rodwell, Henderson, Rose, Welbeck and Sturridge.

Amen to that. I believe that there a good few players playing in the U-21's who could easily make the step up to the first team. I'm praying that they all have a brilliant tournament so they can give themselves the best chance possible to do so.

Is the match on TV?

Looking forward to the friendly later, sick of the general 'England are shit' noises because I believe we have some great talent coming through.

I didn't even know that. Yes I'd play Walker now as well.

Don't get me wrong, I think Rodwell is a decent player but I just haven't seen enough from him to suggest that he'll become a top player and play for a top club such as us and so I don't know why we're continuously being linked with him. This is the time for us to buy a top experienced midfielder, not another youngster who will need time. I'd rather we gave Tom Cleverley a chance than spend £15-20 million on Rodwell.
