Ja606

"Faced with the prospect of having to do some real work, we instead strived to recreate the 'classic' look-and-feel of the original 606, resulting in the homage you are now viewing...

You should also be aware that the JA606 site has been built from the ground up utilising some fairly modern web browsing technologies. As such, JA606 recommends the use of an up to date browser, such as Firefox or Chrome."

Seems that they have gone under with the amount of traffic coming their way.

The thing that really got me, and you probably all know from my 606 postings, is that the website is anything but their own.

Anyway, I much prefer this site, have been a member for a fair bit, although inactive when 606 itself was open.

So here I am :)

Who is the guy behind the site?

It just seems like poor excuses and drumming up a bit of sympathy to me :(

I've just told him to stop with the bull.  I'm getting irritated by it now.

But why has he sending the site to celebs?  Cringe-alert.

Its a joke, its not a DDoS, its the fact that so many people tried to access it today, which created the same effect as a DDoS would.
This is what happens when you copy the coding for a big website designed for hundreds of users on big servers, onto a small server with limited bandwidth.

Ah I did! Hehe.

It really cheeses me off when these sites claim this to hide faults. To organise that kind of attack to take down a decent server would cost several thousand pound and more importantly would be illegal.

It's just bull.

Speaking of new servers...

http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/sporteditors/2011/05/the_closure_of_606....

Some people are claiming that a DDoS attack was launched on ja606. Clutching at straws or what? Its clearly not built or designed well enough to handle big users.

It was running slow even before 606 shut down, and with all the users flooding there, and not getting any access, I'm sure a fair few more will come here now. :)

And thecityisred got the first comment in there on Sport Witness :) Good job!

Glad to see you here!

This is the place to be anyway...all the best people are here. ;)

Actually, I read on 606 yesterday that the Ja fellas were going to move to a new server - looks like that failed? (LOL)
