Three for the price of one and a game were fitness was the only factor.

Maghull 0-4 Bootle

Saturday 19th July kick off 3pm

Hellay every bloody peeps !!

Nice to have you back.

One thing I have noticed, through the lack of comments, is that very few read these daft ramblings.
Nobody seemed to notice (on the Maghull website) that I hadn't even posted a report, for the first two games, after the Burscough match.
You little scamps.

Anyway, it was nice to be at Old Hall Field again, after the World Cup debacle. It seems I was the only person in the English speaking world, who thought England would do well.

So, the evenings entertainment.

It was not the best game I have ever seen, but had it's moments.
Higher league, pre season opposition, like last season.
Giving a good account of themselves, like last season.
And missing from the spot, like last season.
Let's hope the end league position is, like last season.

The match, itself, can be summed up quite quickly.
A good start and early pressure brought about a penalty, that was struck against the crossbar.

The visitors took advantage of this stroke of luck and took the lead before half time.

The game was very tight, and even with Maghull having a lot of youngsters playing, they more than held their own.

Unfortunately, the last 20 minutes brought tiredness, coupled with many changes and fitness took it's toll.

Three goals, in very quick succession, gave Bootle a very flattering scoreline. Though in fairness, they did deserve the victory.

A good run out, can't ask for too much more in pre season. Results irrelevant.

Next game : AFC Liverpool home 22nd July 2014 kick off 7.15 (well it was)
